I have a background and training in Vedic/Ayurveda and Daoist healing techniques as well as those of two branches of Shamanism.
Part of my Shamanic training comes from The Foundation for Shamanic Studies and includes their intensive classes. These are what are considered more traditional techniques by most people and are relatively simple comparedto those of WildernessFusion. I have completed the first 4 of the 7 year training from WildernessFusion that teaches techniques based on the Shamanism of the Lipan Apache, a more thorough and complex set of techniques.
I focus most on the techniques of WildernessFusion because of my personal experience as a patient/client of healers of that system of Shamanism. I was told by my cardiologist I had to have a heart bypass operation to survive. I refused and searched for an alternative. Within a few weeks I was fortunate enough to end up at a clinic held by the WildernessFusion School and run by students near the end of their seventh year of training. When I went for a healing I could walk less than 10 yards without stopping to catch my breath and rest. I was scheduled for just over 4 hours of healing on two consecutive days. After a bit over an hour and a half on the first day it was time for the lunch break. To get lunch I had to walk 50 yards up the side of a ridge. I never had to stop and rest and never got out of breath. At that moment I committed myself to learning what they had to teach.
